For the first 25 minutes of the event, the spotlight will shine on over a dozen talented student researchers who have prepared engaging posters to showcase their work. This is your chance to see innovation and critical thinking in action, as each student will be standing by their poster, ready to answer questions, share insights, and discuss the ideas driving their research.
Human Rights in Focus: A Roundtable with the BC Human Rights Commissioner
After exploring the research posters, stay for an engaging and thought-provoking roundtable discussion hosted by TRUFA, featuring the BC Office of the Human Rights Commissioner. This special event will be held in HOL 190 on January 22nd from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with food served at 12 PM.
The first 30 minutes of the talk provide a unique opportunity to visit and engage directly with the BC Human Rights Commissioner. Then, join the discussion as the Commissioner is joined by distinguished speakers Dr. Rod McCormick and Dr. Manu Sharma, with Sharon Thira as the moderator. Together, they will explore pressing topics related to family status, international students, and Indigenous rights, shedding light on the human rights issues that shape our communities.
