Who are “Global Indigenous” People?

This is why our Global Indigenous Drop-in Space exists.

What makes us stand out?

  • Our ancestral connection to the land, and unique cultures we nurture
  • Our distinct cultural practices passed down for generations.
  • The historical marginalization forcing us out, but we endure.
  • Self-Identification which is fundamental to our identity and sovereignty.

Your voices in our drop-in space

From the Māori of Aotearoa, the Sámi of Northern Europe, and the Mapuche of Chile, to the Inuit of the Arctic, from the Métis Nation of Ontario and British Columbia to the Nuu-chah-nulth of Vancouver Island, and the Quechua of the Andes. From San (Bushmen) of Southern Africa to the Amazigh (Berbers) of North Africa —Indigenous identities are vast and powerful.

Why this space?

Academia wasn’t built for us—but we are transforming it.

Our research, our knowledge, and our perspectives matter.

You should never have to navigate this journey alone.
